Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of TalkFerry (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the apps you accept them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use TalkFerry.
1. Who can use TalkFerry
- You must be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live).
- One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on your account and the devices you connect to it.
2. What TalkFerry does
TalkFerry translates speech in real time using Google’s Gemini service: face to face on your phone, and in voice chat on your PC. Translations are produced by a machine learning model and can be wrong, incomplete or delayed.
Do not rely on TalkFerry for emergencies, medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other important decisions. It is not a substitute for a professional interpreter.
3. Minutes
- Translation uses minutes from your balance. A minute is time the translator spends processing speech, measured from the usage Google reports, including about 2 seconds after each sentence while it finishes. Understand mode on PC processes everything it hears and uses minutes faster.
- Your balance is shared by all devices on your account.
- Free minutes: new accounts may receive a small number of free minutes, once per person and device. We may withhold them if a device was already used for free minutes or fails Google Play checks.
- Buying minutes: minute packs are one-time purchases through Google Play at the price shown there (including applicable taxes). They are not a subscription.
- Minutes have no cash value, can’t be transferred or exchanged, and are only used within TalkFerry. We don’t currently set an expiry date on minutes.
- Refunds follow Google Play’s refund policies. If a purchase is refunded or reversed, its minutes are removed from your balance, which can then go below zero.
- If you delete your account, any remaining minutes are lost and are not refunded.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t use TalkFerry to:
- break the law or anyone’s rights, or harass, threaten or deceive people;
- record or translate people where their consent is required and you don’t have it;
- abuse, copy, reverse engineer or overload the service, get around minute metering or limits, or use it through automated means;
- send anything other than the speech you want translated.
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Other companies’ services
Translation is provided by Google Gemini; sign-in, payments and device checks by Google. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply. TalkFerry works alongside games and voice chat apps but is not affiliated with or endorsed by them; their names are trademarks of their owners.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep TalkFerry running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. The translator may be busy or unavailable at times, and features may change. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it permanently we will give reasonable notice in the app.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by translation errors, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. We may end or suspend accounts that break these terms.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use TalkFerry after that means you accept the new terms.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.
