Delete your TalkFerry account
You can delete your TalkFerry account at any time. Deleting the account is permanent and cannot be undone.
In the app
- Open TalkFerry on your Android phone and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
The PCs paired with the account are signed out at the same time.
If you cannot use the app
Send an email to support@talkferry.com from the email address of your TalkFerry account, with the subject “Delete my TalkFerry account”. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it.
What is removed
- Your email address and name are removed from the account, and the link to your Google account is cut.
- Every phone and PC on the account is signed out and its sign-in is revoked.
- The account is closed and can no longer be used. Any minutes you have not used are lost and are not refunded.
What is kept
- The record of minutes and purchases (the ledger), for accounting, tax and fraud prevention. After deletion it is no longer connected to your email address or name.
- Keyed hashes of your Google account identifier, your email address and your device identifier. They cannot be turned back into the originals. They stop the free minutes from being claimed again, and they carry over a negative balance caused by a refund.
- Security logs, which are kept for a short period and then deleted.
Audio and transcripts are never stored by us, so there is nothing to delete. Purchases made through Google Play remain in your Google account’s order history, which Google controls.
If your balance is below zero after a refund, the app cannot delete the account. Email us and we will sort it out.
Uninstalling is not the same as deleting
Removing the app from your phone or deleting the TalkFerry folder on your PC does not delete your account. Delete the account first if you want your data removed.
